I'm a professional web designer, and I sometimes get calls from new customers who are NOT HAPPY with their current hosting providers, one such name is Yellowbook. One client of mine has hired me to re-design his Yellowbook website, which I'm sorry to say for Yellowbook is just not up to par. I wouldn't pay a dime for this web site design. Well, when my client hired me, my next step was to download his website. But guess what? I couldn't download it and keep any of the existing site files -- because Yellowbook claimed that they owned it. Wow. Not only are they charging my new client a grip of money per month for webhosting charges, but he doesn't even own the website or it's content.

I did a search for "Yellowbook complaints about web hosting" and found a link in Google where someone else has attempted to complain on a public forum. One of the first responses they received on this forum sounded like a professional response from a Yellowbook Public Relations person who monitors the web.

My advice about Yellowbook is this. For as much money as they'll collect from you in the first year, you can get much more in a professional web design from a company like mine, or one in your local area.

Plus, you will own the website and it's content. That's important considering how much you're likely to invest over the lifetime of a website.
